Academia Hernando was formed as a division of learning in retirement of the University of South Florida. It was initially called “Mondays in Brooksville” and met in the Courthouse Commission Chambers. It was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) domestic nonprofit on November 18, 2010.

Academia Hernando is a not-for-profit lifelong learning organization providing quality instruction and learning experiences for adult students throughout Hernando County, Florida, and beyond. Our goal is to inform, educate, and inspire adult learners through a series of weekly lectures on a wide variety of topics.
